During the ’08 – 09 season the Jazz beat the hornets all 3 games by double figures.  It’s safe to say the Hornets have not given us much trouble over the past few years.  Does that mean an almost guaranteed win for the Jazz?  I guess not.  Again the Jazz come up short.  Chris Paul’s steal with :46 to play was unbelievably good.  He grabbed it at his feet and whipped around so fast without traveling.  It was the game clincher.  You know what wasn’t a game changing stat?  CJ Miles 5-14 shooting including getting the ball with about :15 left and then holding it for 4 seconds for some unknown reason.  Can someone please explain to me why CJ gets the ball to hopefully get the Jazz back in the game?  Has anyone else noticed that since he came back the Jazz have been playing terrible?

Running total of games in which CJ Miles has played and destroyed momentum and nearly (or literally) lost the game for the Jazz: 7

CP3 DWill Jazz Fail at Home vs the Hornets 1/04/10

There have been volumes written about the Chris Paul vs Deron Williams debate.  DWill has won most of the head-to-head battles but CP3 is generally lauded as the better player.  It would be interesting to see how each would have played for the other’s team.  If the Jazz had drafted CP3 and the Hornets had drafted DWill I think it’s safe to say they would have the other’s numbers.  The Hornets mostly don’t have an offense without CP3 and the Jazz are capable of running without DWill (albeit badly).  If the Hornets had DWill I’m sure he would be putting up the better numbers.  If CP3 played for the Jazz in the pick and roll where the PG is not accustomed to getting rebounds I’m sure his stats wouldn’t be quite as well.  Both have shown to be very capable shooters and passers.  Chris Paul’s edges of Williams lie in turnovers and FT%.  Williams is a little more turnover prone and Williams FT% has never been over 85%.  CP3 has generally averaged around 85% FT and less than 3 TOs per game.  Williams consistently averaged over 3 TOs and is just not as careful with the ball.
