About Upper Bowl Jazz Fan blog

The Upper Bowl Jazz Fan blog is an analysis of everything Utah Jazz related from the true fan’s perspective.  I am a season ticket holder in the (you guessed it) the Upper Bowl.  I go to and watch nearly every game because I love the Utah Jazz.  I’m not some rich dude in the lower bowl who buys tickets and sends clients to the game or has them as a status symbol.  This is the perspective of the purest fan.  I read as much as a I can about the Jazz whether from ESPN or NBA or from local newspapers.  I grew up with the Jazz and had Bobby Hansen and Thurl Bailey posters in my room as a kid.    I watched when we hosted the All-Star game (like that’ll happen again), when Malone choked against Seattle in the Western Conference Finals, when Stockton made the shot against Houston to send us to the Finals, when Jordan made the famous shot over Bryon Russell, when the Jazz went 16-56, when we went to the Western Conference Finals again and every time in between.

Last year I read that some of the “experts” predicted that Kosta Koufos and CJ Miles were the most likely candidates to have a breakout year for the ’08-09 season and I laughed.  Do these experts really know the Jazz and watch more than just a couple games a year?  Probably not.  They see statlines and boxscores.  What they don’t see is that CJ Miles gets beat by about every single person he guards and jacks up way too many contested shots.  Where is Kosta Koufos now?  In the Sloan doghouse relegated to scrap duty at the end of games.  It’s safe to say that the ESPN experts know the NBA and the big teams…but not our Jazz.  The people who watch every game and understand basketball are the ones who really can offer a true look at the Jazz which is what you’ll find here.  Enjoy
